No Sherlyn Chopra Opposite Shahid Kapoor In A Yash Raj Project!
Shahid Kapoor and Sherlyn Chopra in a Yash Chopra film? Before your eyes pop out of your sockets here's a clarification to reports about Sherlyn Chopra being paired opposite Shahid Kapoor in a Yash Raj Film.The news has upset the Chopras no end. A source from from the Yash Raj banner clarified, "Shahid has been paired with Rani Mukherjee. Sherlyn is just making a brief appearance in the film. The report of Shahid acting opposite Sherlyn is false. Sherlyn is doing it just to gain some mileage for herself and also to get some cheap publicity."

Sherlyn signs YashRaj film with Shahid
Shockers come in many guises the latest is Sherlyn Chopra signing Yash Raj’s next as Shahid Kapur’s leading lady! A Yash Raj spokesperson confirms, “Yes, Sherlyn has been signed by Yash Raj to star in a film by Anurag Singh.”
The film is a love triangle involving Rani Mukerji, Shahid Kapur and Sherlyn Chopra.
Sherlyn will be seen in her seductive best and will have a lot of steamy scenes with Shahid. The source adds, “Though Adi met Sherlyn, it was Yash Chopra’s suggestion.
Sherlyn has been in the good books of Yash Chopra, who also launched her album Outrageous. Yash Raj has been wanting to get in touch with her for some time but Sherlyn had her number changed so they finally got it from Vinod Pandey (who directed her in Red Swastika).”
Just the beginning
Sherlyn isn’t jumping from rooftops at being signed by the most powerful production house in B-Town, “I won’t be modest and mouth the usual platitudes of saying how excited and happy I am.
For me, this is just the beginning. Yes, I am a part of Anurag’s film but I still need to work much harder to get to the place where I really want to be right at the top. I have it in me to be a kick-ass Bollywood babe and I will do it.”
On working with Shahid Kapur and Rani Mukerji, Sherlyn says, “I just want to do this role to the best of my abilities and want them to start wondering how I can act with so much of finesse and ease. The director, Anurag Singh has told that he will be pitching me against them and that I have to be on par with their performances.”
I’m a screamer!
About her outrageous quotes, Sherlyn says, “When the time is right I will talk about the film and my acting too. Why should I be tired about talking about my sexuality? Maybe the day I cross 50 years I will stop. I am a 20-something and I have all the right to scream! I don’t deny that I scream to get attention. It’s not a crime to promote my film or myself.”
About her close association with Yash Chopra, Sherlyn says, “When Vinod Pandey had held a screening for Red Swastika for Yash uncle at YRF preview theatre, Yash uncle had said just one thing after the screening, ‘yeh ladki bahut aage jayegi.’ I will never forget his words.”
Ask her if her family is now proud of her achievement and she laughs, “Mom will say that it should’ve happened long time back. She is tired of me talking about my butt or sexuality or bikinis.”
Rakhi Sawant in Yash Raj's next?
Item queen of Bollywood Rakhi Sawant is keen to get into the A-league of Bollywood. She recently performed an item number in Rakesh Roshan's Krazzy 4 . And if sources are to be believed Rakhi has been signed by Yash Raj Films for their forthcoming film.
According to a source, Rakhi has been signed for Yash Raj's Shahid Kapoor Rani Mukherjee starrer to be directed by Anurag Singh. itss going to be a life time role for Rakhi. Its not a cameo. She will be seen as a dancer from the Bhand Samaj doing nautanki . Rakhi's role is quite bold just like the way she is in her real life. She will have some really bold dialogues and rocking dance numbers in the film.†reveals a source.
It is believed that Rakhi's role in this film will help her raise the bar and be at par with the league actresses. The source adds that Chopras have asked Rakhi not to talk about the film as per their confidentiality policy.
When we quizzed Rakhi about the film, she was surprised to know how we came to know about it. She neither confirmed nor denied the news but as expected, asked us, “Who told you about this? I dont want to comment on this. She further said, my dream to work with Yash Raj. I am dying to work with them and if I get an opportunity to work with them, it would be like a dream come true.
Yash Raj Films maintain complete secrecy about their projects but it is believed that the film will commence in March 2008.

Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapur in Yashraj Films Next
Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapur have been signed for the first time to star in Yashraj Films next venture. The film which is not titled yet is expected to roll in April and will be directed Anurag Singh. The debutant director is the son of veteran producer K P Singh who produced the hit Dharmendra, Hema Malini and Vinod Khanna starrer Patthar Aur Payal in 1974 and more recently the Bobby Deol starrers Hum To Mohabbat Karega in 2000 and Jurm in 2005. These two films did not do well at the box office. This Rani, Shahid starrer will have music by Pritam and the rest of the crew and cast being finalised.
Shahid Kapur to do a Yashraj love story ?
After two hits, Shahid Kapur has consolidated his position as Bollywood’s next romantic hero.The good run of Vivah last year followed by the box-office success of Jab We Met this year has turned Shahid’s career around. Suddenly, the actor has found a place in the wish-lists of leading production houses.
Among them is Yashraj Films that are presently in talks with Shahid for a romantic movie.According to an industry insider: “ Aditya Chopra has been pretty impressed by the rapid strides Shahid has made in one year. Today, Shahid is viewed as an actor who can carry a film on his shoulders. That is why YRF has approached him for a youthful love story.”
Although there has been no official confirmation yet, there is a strong chance that Shahid will indeed be signed for the film.The movie will reportedly be directed by Anurag Singh, who has worked for YRF banner. If things fall in place the movie might go on the floors in the first quarter of 2008.Meanwhile, Shahid will act in a film to be directed by his father Pankaj Kapur .
Despite ups and downs in his personal life, year 2007 has been pretty good for Shahid. The actor did not ruminate much over his break-up from Kareena Kapoor and moved on with his life. Of late, he has been spotted with Tennis star Sania Mirza. Whether something is cooking between the two – it is still too early to say.
