Katrina wants to outdo Sheila
| Katrina Kaif is "trying her best" to outdo her last item number. This one won't be raunchy or the remake of a classic. Will it hit the bullseye, even so? Sheila Ki Jawani is passe. Katrina Kaif is reinventing herself for an item number for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Picture if you will, something of the ilk of Madhuri Dixit's Ek Do Teen from Tezaab. | |
Says Katrina, "Yes, I am shooting a full-on tapori number. It's earthy and sensuous not suggestive. I'm supposed to be dancing at a roadside dhaba."
So what happens to Sheila? Katrina shrugs, "That's become the new benchmark for all my dance numbers. I was told to better Sheila Ki Jawani. And I'm trying my best."
The actress is quietly shooting for the item number at Yash Raj Studios. Onlookers say she's sporting a hot new look.
Sohail Sen has composed the music. The brief that producer Aditya Chopra gave him was simple: Keep it original. Go "beyond Sheila".
Says a source, "It isn't so much about one-upmanship over Kat's last calling card as much as it is to living up to (if not exceeding) the expectations audiences would have from an item number featuring the actress)."
FACT: Bosco (of the Bosco-Ceasar duo), who also did Deepika Padukone's Mit Jaaye Gham will choreograph the Kat track. Adi has told him to avoid raunchy, bawdy or suggestive steps.
Right here, right now
Apparently, Kat broke into a jig right there and then in Adi Chopra's office when she heard the track. The shy producer was amused and pleasantly embarrassed.
Ali Zafar to do a cameo in 'Luv Ka The End'
Actor/singer plays himself -- a popular crooner -- in the film
Ali Zafar has done a special appearance in Yash Raj Films' Luv Ka The End. The Pakistani singer turned actor was roped in at the last minute.
Ali is set to play a singing star and will appear during the climax of the film in a song titled Fun, Fun Funaa.
A source reveals, "He plays the character of Freddie Kapoor who's a famous singer, song writer and model.
His inclusion was an attempt to give the film more glamour and also add in an extra up tempo number."
Youth connect
The film's director Bumpy was keen on having the Tere Bin Laden actor in his film.
"Ali has a connect with the youth which will work for the film. Since both the leads Shraddha Kapoor and Taaha Shah are newcomers, it would help to have some one who's already a known face."

Salman, Katrina back together!
Finally, after much speculation over who the leading lady will be in Kabir Khan's directorial next with Salman in the lead, Katrina Kaif has officially landed the role.
Salman Khan who had a few objections to Kat being in the film (Mumbai Mirror, March 29) has automatically resolved the same. A source close to the film confirmed, "Katrina and Salman are still very good friends. There is no animosity now."
Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were also being considered for the role. "But obviously, the role suits Katrina better. Moreover, having worked with Kabir Khan, she is Kabir's favourite; they share a very good equation," added the source.
All said and done, this year seems to be turning out really well for the Kaif girl. She now has a film with not just Salman in his post Dabangg glory but also with Shah Rukh to be directed by none other than Yash Chopra himself.
Katrina remained unavailable for comment when contacted.

Ride Yash Chopra train in Switzerland
Ever thought of reliving the time Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol spent together while shooting the song Zara sa jhoom loon… in a Swiss train from the film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). Now, Bollywood fans can actually go that distance and not return disappointed.
Jungfra u Railways in Switzerland recently inaugurated a train named after the Bollywood veteran Yash Chopra. Complete with his signature and name on a signboard, the train was launched by the filmmaker in the presence of Jungfrau Railways CEO Urs Kessler in Switzerland on Friday.
Popular songs such as Tu mere saamne… from Darr with Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla and Zara sa jhoom loon… from DDLJ were shot on Jungfrau Railways’ trains. Not many know that Chopra’s first visited Switzerland in 1984 to shoot his film, Faasle. However, the last Yash Raj Films production to be shot in Switzerland was Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), directed by Siddharth Anand.
Not just that, a deluxe suite of the Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel too has been named after Chopra. Parts of the song, Naa jaane mere dil ko…, which were passed off as being shot in London in DDLJ, were actually located near this hotel. “It’s a historical and emotional moment. These felicitations aren’t just for me, but for my industry and, my country, India,” says Chopra, who was also honoured with the Ambassador of Interlaken award, making him its first recipient.
Chopra, who is often credited for showcasing Switzerland in his films, feels his romance with the country is still going strong. “Generally people try to fleece filmmakers when they go to shoot a film abroad. But here, authorities are genuinely interested in helping you,” he says, before recalling an incident where a traffic policeman actually diverted traffic to accommodate the shoot. “I was nervous because I had to wrap up the shot that day itself. I was quite surprised that the traffic policeman agreed to divert the traffic.”

Deepika in, Kat out for Salman?
As Deepika Padukone loses Ranbir Kapoor to Katrina Kaif, looks like she may now take revenge by stepping into Katrina's shoes. Buzz has it that Deepika is all set to act opposite to Salman Khan in a Yash Raj Films venture. Aditya Chopra wanted to cast A-list star opposite Salman Khan in the film. And the list for the lead heroine included Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. But later the list was cut down to Katrina and Deepika.

Till now he was generally seen in parties and events, now be ready to watch this dashing young Kapoor lad in Yash Raj Film’s new youth films studio Y-Films production Virus Diwan. Boney Kapoor’ son Arjun Kapoor gears up for his Bollywood debut
As the name suggests the movie is about a techie who is quite a pro is hacking. So can we expect Boney Kapoor’s son to do an Ankit Fadia on big screen? With the tagline that reads ‘Enter. Infect. Escape’, the movie is a tech-based caper, a story of India’s youngest and most twisted hacker.
The Kapoor family is super excited about Arjun’s debut. His mother Mona Kapoor and sister Anshula are on seventh heaven. His cousin Rhea Kapoor congratulates him on Twitter and writes, “So happy for my brother arjun. A new journey begins”. Aunt Maheep Kapoor tweets - “My nephew Arjun kapoor ! So so happy for him :)”
From very young age Arjun has been a cinema lover and used to accompany his dad Boney Kapoor to studios. In order to get the hang of the creative side of filmmaking, he joined Karan Johar’s production as an assistant director to Nikhil Advani in Kal Ho Na Ho. Like his cousin Sonam Kapoor he too has worked hard to get a lean body. Arjun is quite close to Salman Khan and the star has also guided the young boy with fitness tips.

YRF launches new youth film studio Y-Films
Yash Raj Films Thursday launched a new youth film studio Y-Films, which would showcase a fresh crop of directors and stars.
"Y-Films promises to deliver kick ass films of the youth, by the youth, for the youth and be the platform for new talent, both on screen and behind the scenes, who will challenge, change, break and set new rules of story telling," Ashish Patil, head of Y-Films said at the launch.
Y-Films is ready with three films - " Luv Ka The End" and " Virus Diwan" directed by Bumpy and "Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge" directed by Nupur Asthana".
Y-Films would come up with unconventional marketing strategies to promote their films.
"There are very aggressive digital strategies where lots of digital partners would come to play to help us. That's a challenge to the marketing process that was happening in the past. There was a template. By design Y-Films would burn those templates. All the things that we are going to do around marketing films would be pretty fresh," said Patil.
Creatively it would be completely independent of Yash Raj Films, claimed Patil.
"The only thing that we are tapping into as far the mother ship Yash Raj Films is concerned is production and distribution. Creatively its a completely new world. That's what is wonderful working with Adi ( Aditya Chopra) and Yashji," said Patil.
The first film "Luv ka The End" is slated to release May 6.

YRF - Salman film: True picture
Though Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have worked with Yash Raj Films and will be seen in their forthcoming films as well, Salman Khan had never worked with the Numero Uno production house to date. Of course, there were occasions in the past when the Chopras and the actor had discussed a project or two, but for reasons best known to them, the projects couldn't materialize. But the two parties are likely to shake hands on a new project which will be directed by Kabir Khan.
News is out that Kabir, who has directed KABUL EXPRESS and NEW YORK for YRF, is keen on casting Salman for this film. But here's the true picture: Salman hasn't signed on the dotted line yet. Sure, Salman has agreed in principle, but till the Chopras and Salman put their signatures on paper after working out the modalities, it wouldn't be right to say that he's officially on. Another news doing the rounds is that this one would be a sports-based film. It's not!
With Salman entering the YRF camp [hopefully], the banner is back to making mammoth projects after a hiatus.

SRK to romance Katrina now
Following our story on September 28, 2010, about SRK in Yash Chopra's next directorial venture, the industry was abuzz with speculations over the actress that would make the cut.
All rumours can be put to rest now. For the first time in her eight-year acting career, Katrina Kaif, will star opposite SRK in the YRF project.
A source close to YRF says, "Katrina was the first choice for the heroine's role in Yashji's film. She immediately said 'yes' to the film. She has loved the script and is looking forward to working with Yashji. She will play Shah Rukh's romantic interest."
Talking about the film's storyline, the source reveals, "Obviously, the film will be a love story. Yashji is a master of romance. There is no reason why he will not generate and extract great chemistry between Shah Rukh and Katrina."
Since the production house has witnessed some turmoil in the recent past, YRF is depending on the success of this project. When asked if SRK and Katrina feel secure about this endeavour, the source says, "Shah Rukh and Katrina have very good relations with Yashji and Aditya. They have equal faith in both of them. They are like family to them."
Considering, the last film that SRK did with Yash Chopra (Veer Zaara, 2004) was a success, here's hoping that all works out well for YRF.

Vidya Balan, Aditya Chopra mend fences
After years of refusing to work with YRF, the actress may finally agree to a film for Aditya Chopra, thanks to mentor Pradeep Sarkar.
Vidya Balan and Yash Raj Film scion Aditya Chopra are on their way to mend fences. Her mentor Pradeep Sarkar is acting as the mediator.
Vidya Balan has continually refused to work in YRF films, first it was Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom followed by Pradeep Sarkar's Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. This had obviously not gone down too well with Chopra.
Pradeep Sarkar too had a fallout with the actress after she refused his second film. But the two made up later. It is Sarkar who now, wants Vidya to patch up with the Chopras.
Sarkar wants Vidya back for the third on his 3-film contract with YRF. The first two Laaga... and Lafangey Parindey bombed at the box office.
Considering Vidya has been his lucky charm, Parineeta being Sarkar's most acclaimed film till date, it comes as no surprise that the director wants this YRF Vidya patch up to work out.
The director convinced Aditya Chopra, who wasn't to keen on meeting the actress. A source reveals, "If all goes well, Vidya will star in YRF's film to be directed by Sarkar.
And knowing Vidya's sensibilities of choosing a role, Sarkar has a tailor made script for her. Only Aditya should give the green signal."
When contacted, Sarkar laughed and said, "Am I making Aditya meet Vidya?" "Well...," he continued, "Abhi tak baatchit nahin hui hai. Let me complete the script in all respects. But yes, I would love to work with Vidya again."
Though Vidya remained unavailable for comment, here's wishing that things work out for both her and YRF. And we get some decent cinema.

I`m happy that I am directing `Dhoom 3`: Vijay Krishna Acharya
After writing two instalments of successful action film ‘Dhoom’ series, Vijay Krishna Acharya aka Victor is delighted to take on the responsibility of directing ‘Dhoom 3’.
"I`m very happy as I am directing `Dhoom 3`," said Victor, adding that he was sure from the very beginning he would be directing the movie.
The first two instalments of the film were directed by Sanjay Gadhvi.
"I like to direct what I write. When I started writing (part three), I knew that I would be directing it. I became a writer by default, I always planned to direct a film. I am at pre-production stage and am happy wherever I am at present," Victor told reporters.
The first instalment of ‘Dhoom’, which starred John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Rimi Sen, Eesha Deol and Uday Chopra, was a super duper successful actioner of 2004. Two years later came ‘Dhoom 2’ and apart from Aishwarya Rai-Hrthik Roshan pairing, the film`s action scenes and performances by the entire cast that included Abhishek, Bipasha Basu and Uday were appreciated by one and all.
Aamir Khan has been roped in to play the pivotal role in ‘Dhoom 3’. The female lead for the film is yet to be decided.
Victor made his directorial debut with ‘Tashan’, which turned out to be a dud.
So does he find himself burdened with the expectations of ‘Dhoom’ fans?
"As a filmmaker what you can hope to do is doing what drives you. I will make a film which I would believe I should do and I can. Commerce is in no one`s hand and that should not be the only reason to make a film ever," said Victor who is sentimentally attached to his directorial debut.
"It`s the first film that I had directed; so it would always be close to my heart. Success and failure are a part of filmmaking. Of course, when you do and find no resonance, you should go back and find it," said Victor, who has also scripted ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’ and penned the dialogues for Mani Ratnam`s ‘Guru’ and ‘Raavan’.
"I did `Raavan` in between. With Mani sir, I was assistant director. I am a writer and I write in Hindi, and it is not the first language of Mani sir. So I like being on the set with him. I love working with him because he is a great guy and you end learning many things."

"I`m very happy as I am directing `Dhoom 3`," said Victor, adding that he was sure from the very beginning he would be directing the movie.
The first two instalments of the film were directed by Sanjay Gadhvi.

Another one falls prey to the con man!
Ricky Bahl finds his next victim.
Meet Aditi Sharma, an innocent girl who makes the mistake of trusting the smooth talking and conniving master mind, Ricky, and falls victim to a super slick caper which leaves her devastated.
Aditi, a well known model who is the recognizable face of many ad campaigns, plays the role of a small town, hard working girl who looks after the family shop. She makes the mistake, like the others, of trusting the con man.
Director Maneesh Sharma, who successfully launched Ranveer Singh alongside the lovely and straight-from-the-heart performer, Anushka Sharma in Band Baaja Baaraat, is back with his original team and has finally found his three ladies for his next venture, LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL.
Apart from their outstanding auditions and perfect fit for their roles, Maneesh's choice of Aditi, Dipannita and Parineeti, is in keeping with his, as well as yrf's, ethos to push the boundaries and also work with and promote new and fresh talent.
Produced by Aditya Chopra, LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL stars Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. The film is planned for a 9th Dec 2011 release worldwide, the same weekend the refreshing Band Baaja Baaraat released.
Will Ricky Bahl now finally meet his match…

Yashraj bets on Imran Khan
It’s been barely three years since his debut, Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Naa catapulted him to stardom. And Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, his first outing with Yash Raj Films (YRF), is yet to reach the cinemas.
But it seems that actor Imran Khan, would’ve become the new blue-eyed boy
related stories of the Chopras. Producer Aditya Chopra has offered the actor five scripts, including one he’s written himself, to choose from for his next film with them.
A crewmember with YRF says Aditya is extremely pleased with Khan’s performance in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. “Having also seen Imran’s performance in I Hate Luv Storys (2010) previously, Adi feels he should further consolidate his position in romcoms,” says the crewmember, adding, “That’s why he has given Imran five scripts, including one authored by him, to pick as his next film with YRF.”
Years ago, when Aditya started on his path to become the Czar of YRF with Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), his directorial debut’s unprecedented success turned Shah Rukh Khan into Bollywood’s first major star overseas. “It seems that after SRK, Aditya is backing Imran the most from among his contemporaries,” points the source.
On his part, Khan concedes that he’s still very new to the industry with only a handful of films to his credit. At the same time, he admits, “Adi is someone I look up to and take advice from. Karan (Johar) is also someone whom I’m extremely close to.”
Shrugging off being heralded as the prince of romance, the actor maintains, “I don’t know about being anyone’s blue eyed-boy, but it does feel good when my work is appreciated and filmmakers show confidence in me.”
Khan adds that this confidence helps him work harder to live up to expectations. As for being given the liberty by the Chopras to choose from many scripts, he says, “When they think I suit the character in their scripts and can deliver performances, the actor in me is fuelled by enthusiasm.”
Khan’s closest competitor, friend and actor Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand is only doing Ayan Mukherjee’s film for Johar’s Dharma Productions, besides exploring diverse genres with films like Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, Anurag Basu’s Barfee and a biopic on Kishore Kumar.

YRF offers profit to Salman
On February 8, 2011, Mumbai Mirror broke the story that Salman Khan is not ready to work for Yash Raj Films.
A few days ago, a section of the media reported that the actor has agreed to do Kabir Khan's mega project, which he will direct for YRF.
We now reveal what happened in the interim. The truth is that Salman has still not signed on the dotted line but YRF is leaving no stone unturned to get him on board.
According to sources, like YRF made an exception to get Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3 by agreeing to give him approximately 33 per cent of the share in profits, they will now make a similar one for Sallu.
The buzz in the industry is that YRF has agreed to give an equal share in profits to Salman Khan.
A few days ago, before Salman left for Bangkok to shoot for Aneez Bazmee's Ready, Aditya Chopra and Kabir apparently went to Salman's house to meet him.
The YRF scion made a very tempting offer to Salman, which surprised the actor. The offer was a 33 per cent share in the profits of the film, subject to realisation.
Prior to this meeting, Kabir had met Salman with a narration of the script, which the actor had loved.
Why is Salman still not agreeing to act in the film? "Well, you know how Salman is," says an industry insider, "He will take his own sweet time. Let's just hope that the YRF-Sallu elusive union happens."
While that gets resolved, one thing is clear: that Salman Khan is now in Aamir's league. Meanwhile, in case Sallu signs on the film, you wonder if ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif would agree to do the film as well. Kabir, who worked with her in New York (2009), shares a great rapport with the actress according to sources. Will the casting coup work out?
When asked for comments, the YRF spokesperson did not deny the story and said, "We are in talks with various actors for our projects, including Kabir's. We shall make an announcement when we finalise the cast."
Sallu's rocky past with YRF
This dates back to the days when Kunal Kohli, swamped with accolades for Fanaa, approached Salman with a script, which the actor did not like.
Kohli, while trying to hard sell his project, told Salman that he was probably making a big mistake by refusing an YRF film.
A furious Salman told Kohli, 'So what if it is a YRF film? I will work with them only if they pay me one rupee more than my current rate'.
Salman had another brush with YRF during Chak De! The actor, who had been approached for it, wanted the climax to be changed. Director Shimit Amin refused.

YRF: Raveer is not taking on Ranbir
Yashraj Films has strongly denied Aditya Chopra preparing Ranveer Singh to take on Ranbir Kapoor. A tabloid had published the news today.
An official statement from YRF read, "This provocative insinuation, can only be construed as unfortunate, ridiculous and intentionally malicious and YRF takes strong objection to it.
YRF is all praise for Ranbir Kapoor. "YRF has the utmost respect for the talent and achievements of Ranbir Kapoor, a superstar in his own right, who has worked with the banner in his early days and still continues to hold pride of place at YRF. We also really look forward to working with him again. And again."
The production house also stood by Ranveer Singh. "Also, in all fairness, Ranveer Singh displayed his talent at an audition and has gone on to prove himself. To suggest that he is a product of the Studio's vindictiveness, is demeaning to him as well."
We hope this will put all rumours to rest as of now.

Abhishek to shape up for Dhoom 3
Known to readily add and reduce kilos to play his roles convincingly throughout his decade-long career, this time Abhishek Bachchan is saying no to the muscled look. At a time when other leading men in the industry are building six-pack and eight-pack abs, Junior Bachchan is busy trying to acquire a
lean look. His training regime for Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3 is being kept under wraps, ever since he started training three weeks ago.
The actor is currently shooting for Abbas-Mustan’s Players in New Zealand, where he has also been working out under the supervision of an international trainer, who was flown there by the Chopras nearly a month ago.
Unlike Dhoom 2 (2006), Bachchan has enough time to get into shape for Dhoom 3. A friend of the actor explains, “Back then, Abhishek had finished shooting Mani Ratnam’s Guru, for which he had to put on about 12 kilos. Since the shooting of Dhoom 2 was scheduled to start soon because dates of all the main actors were coordinated, he didn’t get enough time to lose the extra weight he had put on for Guru. The schedule of Dhoom 3 will start later this year so he has enough time to ensure he becomes fit for all the action in the thriller.”
To help Bachchan reach his fittest best, the trainer has banned him from eating junk food and sweets. Instead, Bachchan has been put on a minimal-carbohydrates and high-protein diet, which includes a healthy portion of salads and shakes. To lose the unwanted pounds and also maintain his fitness levels, he starts training early morning, before reporting to the sets of Players.
Since he does not want a muscled look, the actor only does minimal weight training. “The idea is to get Abhishek to look as lean as Hollywood actors like Johnny Depp and Robert Pattinson. His fitness regimen includes a 10-kilometer run in the outdoors, followed by spinning and cycling. Unlike extensive weight training and abs exercises, this training regimen will not only control weight but also help him stay fit in the long run,” explains the actor’s friend, adding that Bachchan also has a long swim regularly at the hotel where he’s put up.
When asked about working out with an international trainer for Dhoom 3, the actor remained non-committal. “It’s too early to talk about it as I’ve been shooting for Players in New Zealand for about a month. People at Yash Raj will be the best to contact for this.”
However, on being probed about his new fitness regime, Bachchan says, “As an actor, it’s not only important for me to play the part to the best of my abilities but also look as convincing as I possibly can. For that, it’s important to start preparing in good time.
Sometimes we have to put on weight and sometimes we have to lose weight for the roles we play. If a director wants me to train in a particular way, I must comply with how he wants my character to look and behave.”

Ali Zafar to paint Katrina ?
The fact that Ali Zafar is a multi-talented actor is no secret. Apart from acting, Ali loves to sing and paint. He has numerous albums in his name and is busy promoting his current one - JHOOM.

Now a source reveals that Ali Zafar is planning to showcase his painting side too and is thinking of casting Katrina on his canvass. Adds the source, "Ali Zafar is an artist to the core. Be it acting, singing or painting. So, recently someone suggested Ali to paint Katrina, the actor spotted a smile in agreement and might actually go ahead to do it. But, no one knows how soon will that be."

Aamir Khan to sing in Dhoom 3
Composer Pritam Chakraborty has set aside all his assignments from June to fully focus on the music of Dhoom 3 which will have a theme song for Aamir Khan that the actor will sing. The last time Aamir sang was the chartbuster Aati Kya khandala for Jatin-Lalit in Ghulam.
The over-committed music composer with a hit record for the last three years has been asked to concentrate only on the music of Dhoom 3 from June onwards by producer Aditya Chopra. He would have to complete all his pending assignments and make himself completely free for the YRF film.
Signature tune, please!
Last week Pritam had a closed-door meeting with Aditya Chopra at the Yashraj office where the soft-spoken producer stressed on creating a new sound for Dhoom 3 including a signature tune for Aamir's character. Adi has asked Pritam to come up with a song that would make the audience sit up and jump out of their seats every time Aamir strides across the screen.
Pritam confirms, "I've said no to several new assignments including Double Dhamaal. This is the first time in my entire career that I'd be working with Aamir Khan. We all know how special that makes this project." The biggest challenge is a theme song for AK's villainous character.
Upping the ante
Says Pritam, "The title song and music are of course integral to the music in Dhoom. But I have to go beyond that. There will be a quality of sound in Dhoom 3 that will make Dhoom and D:2 recede from the audiences' mind."
Pritam has already started working on the tunes. Apparently, Aamir will be sitting in for the rehearsals and recordings of the songs and would be singing a track for the film. Laughs Pritam, "Why not? Aamir sang beautifully in Ghulam.
The Aati Kya Khandala number is popular to this day. Let's also remember that the Dhoom 3 director Victor (Vijay Krishna Acharya) has a terrific music sense. Look at the songs he got from Vishal-Shekhar in Tashan!"
Pritam has been told that just banking on the successful Dhoom Machale track won't do in Dhoom 3.

Katrina is fun on the sets: Ali Zafar
He entered Bollywood with the small budget, quirky Tere Bin Laden, but Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar will be seen next with Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan in a typical romantic comedy. He will also focus on his first love - music.

"The film is a romantic comedy, a very family kind of set-up. Imran and me play brothers. I'm a very charming and flamboyant guy in the film who is very confused about what he wants from life," Ali Zafar told in an interview.
And he is all praise for co-star Katrina Kaif, one of the reigning divas in Bollywood.
"It was a very good experience working with Katrina. She is a very hardworking person and was extremely cooperative and fun on the sets," he said.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a Yash Raj Films' production and is being directed by debutant Ali Abbas Zafar. Tere Bin Laden was also director Abhishek Sharma's first film. So why is Ali Zafar signing up with newcomers?
"One hardly comes across good scripts. I have heard about 50 scripts since Tere Bin Laden. Then finally I liked Mere Brother.... Recently I have signed another film but I can't talk about that. The makers will make an announcement soon," he revealed.
Ali, who has worked as a model for several commercials in Pakistan, has also acted in Pakistani TV serials "Lunda-Bazar", "Kanch Ke Par" and teenage sitcom "Kollege Jeans".
Films apart, Ali is also focussing on music, his first love. The musician's new album "Jhoom" was recently released by Yash Raj Music in India and worldwide and by Ali's own label Alif Records in Pakistan.
"This time I have tried to make timeless music rather than something that is interesting only for a week or so. I made what my heart liked and not what I felt would be popular in the market," said Ali, who has earlier released two albums titled "Huqa Pani" and "Masty".
"As far as inspirations are concerned, I was just thinking that the music that is created today, the soul is missing, secondly it doesn't touch a chord and thirdly it has no shelf life. So I wanted the music that I compose has all of the above."
"Initially I was driven by the commercial aspect of music; now it's driven more by the spiritual aspect," he added.
"Jhoom", which has 12 tracks, took the musician three years to complete.
Even though the market for non-film albums is not booming at the moment, Ali is unfazed by the trend and says he will keep trying and hope for greener pastures.
"I'm a singer, my job is to keep creating music, I can't get bogged down by the market scenario or commerce of it. I could have been if I was looking for money, but I'm not looking for money from this album.
"I'm looking to earning respect from this album. Nowadays I know releasing a non-film album is not very favourable, I wish it was. Music channels are not playing the songs, but I think it's our responsibility as artists that we don't stop doing something we believe in. I feel if you are sincere towards your music it just finds it's way into people's hearts," said Ali.

Salman and Katrina back together
This time, they will come together for a Yash Raj film, to be directed by Kabir Khan
PS: Katrina Kaif has also given the nod to a YRF film with SRK, to be directed by Yash Chopra
According to highly places sources, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will be seen together in a film directed by Kabir Khan, for Yash Raj Films.
She has been signed for two films for the banner. The second one stars Shah Rukh Khan, and will be directed by Yash Chopra.

Says a source, "The film with Shah Rukh will be a romantic one and will go on floor by the end of this year. The SalKat starrer is an action-thriller-romance."
While the SRK-Kat pair is interesting because they've never been paired together in a film, the SalKat jodi is exciting, given their personal history, and their hit films together .
The estranged lovers were last seen together in Tees Maar Khan, in the Walla Walla song.
Salman has stayed away from the YRF banner after the Chak De! controversy.
The film was first offered to him, but the Chopras refused him the price he demanded because they've always paid actors less than their market price, because they are a "prestigious banner."
But that has changed in the last few years, and they have started paying top dollar to the A-List actors.
The banners strategy to work with newcomers didn't really pay off (Lafangey Parindey, Badmaash Company, Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year), so they are back to wooing big stars.
Aamir Khan being signed for Dhoom 3 is yet another indication of that. He has been paid megabucks. Even Salman is getting his asking price this time.
A source close to Katrina confirms, "She's in talks with Kabir for the project. It's a performance oriented role in the league of New York."
A spokesperson from YRF says, "No cast has been locked for either Yashji or Kabir's film. We would request you to wait for our announcement."

Aditya's teenage fixation!
Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Freida Pinto are reportedly waiting for their phone to ring.
They are said to be desperate to bag the female lead opposite Aamir Khan in Aditya Chopra's Dhoom 3. But will they? The Yashraj spokesperson told a trade paper, "We are still in conversation with various artistes. No actor has been locked yet."
Trade sources indicate that there is a certain truth in this statement because according to the grapevine, Adi is very keen to have an 18 to 20 year-old play the role of Aamir's moll. Adi and Aamir have been in talks about how a fresh face with a striking body would ideally fit the bill for the role essayed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Dhoom 2. A B-town insider, who bumped into Dhoom 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya or Victor as his friends call him, apparently heard from him that a teenager is being considered. Our source says, "Adi feels that someone very young and fresh with no inhibitions about kissing and wearing skimpy clothes may actually be the ideal candidate."
Remember how Ash reportedly had the Bachchans in a flux when they saw her skimpy wardrobe in Dhoom-2.

'Freida to star in Dhoom 3'
While the grapevine is buzzing with gossip if Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra or Katrina Kaif will land the role opposite Aamir Khan in Aditya Chopra's Dhoom:3, we have heard another gossip, which if it comes true, will certainly see a new sensational pairing.
Industry is abuzz with rumours that Adi is looking to approach Freida Pinto for the film. It will be interesting to see if Freida, who has still not been seduced to do a Bollywood movie by any of our makers, would see her big debut come opposite Aamir. A top source reveals, "There is a possibilty that Freida might debut in Bollywood with Dhoom:3.
What we hear is that Adi is quite keen to approach her for the role. As of now the actresses haven't been finalised and so the casting process is only gaining momentum. It is a known fact the Freida was very much on the radar for the Bond film and since Dhoom too has become a franchise now, they might as well root to have as many headline makers as possible.
Plus, Freida and Aamir will be an interesting fresh pairing. As of now we will only have to wait and watch how this snowballs." Freida could not be contacted for a comment and the spokesperson from Aditya's production house rubbished the news and added that the casting the girls for the film has not yet begun.

YRF's TV show similar to Trishul?
Yashraj's first daily soap has male protagonists and sounds suspiciously similar to Yash Chopra's film Trishul.
Born on 15th of August, Aditya Merchant and Kabir Khan mark the return of male protagonists on Indian Television in Kismat – an epic saga. Produced by YRF Television and presented by Sony Entertainment Television, Kismat is a story of enmity between two powerful characters, spanning over 60 years in the post independence era. Continuing the tradition of larger than life stories and bringing back the romance of grand storytelling, the show is shot with impeccable Yashraj standards and redefines the benchmarks of fiction shows of tomorrow.
The show revolves around the two central characters - Aditya Merchant and Kabir Khan. Aditya Merchant is the heir to a rich industrialist family born with a silver spoon. He has access to all the privileges and was taught early in life that winning is all that matters, at any cost, and being a true Merchant, Aditya has made winning his habit in everything he does. While Kabir Khan, though born to Muslim parents is adopted by a Hindu family, is fated for a life full of struggles. Kabir has to face adversities early in life which mould him to become an aggressive go getter who stops at nothing and nobody. Kabir's sole agenda is to get rich and be powerful. But KISMAT rules that both Aditya and Kabir's paths must cross & change their lives forever.
The plot sounds suspiciously similar to Yash Chopra's 1975 superhit film Trishul where Shashi Kapoor played the rich industrialist character and Amitabh Bachchan played the less-privileged opponent. However the production house has made no such claim.
Ravina Kohli, Vice President and Creative Head of YRF Television said, "Kismat is an epic set across a period of 60 years beginning at the stroke of the midnight hour when India got her independence. It is a story of ambition, greed, friendship, betrayal, loyalty, family values, love, romance and a lot more. We are venturing into Daily soap territory for the first time with the strong backing of our partners Sony Entertainment Television and we hope Kismat will resonate with a wide audience cutting across age and gender because of its universal appeal."
Speaking about the launch, Mr. Ajit Thakur, EVP and Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television commented "Kismat, the second show from YRF after Khotey Sikkey this year, is a powerful emotional epic saga set on a grand scale; two powerful characters with their own points of view juxtaposed against each other will bring out all the elements of drama and compelling storytelling, just the qualities YRF is known for."

'Priyanka to star in Dhoom 3'
If all goes well, Priyanka Chopra will be rubbing shoulders with Aamir Khan in YRF's Dhoom 3. Priyanka and Yash Raj Films are in advance talks.
A source says, "YRF has a very good professional working relationship with Priyanka. Yash Chopra and Aditya are both keen that she should play the girl opposite Aamir."

Dhoom is a great franchise, most entertaining and full of fun. Everytime I hear the theme tune of Dhoom it brings a swing to my step. Victor's script really won me over and I look forward to working with him."
Speaking about Dhoom:3, Yash Chopra adds, "It's a great pleasure to have Aamir working with our banner. 'YRF TV driven by content, not TRPs'
A year ago it promised to paint the television red with its unique bouquet of shows, but Yash Raj Films (YRF) TV's offerings faded in no time. Now it is back with a vengeance on Sony Entertainment Television with a belief that different content strikes the right chords with the viewers,if not with the ratings' race.
The production company is taking a second shot with a thriller show Khotey Sikkey - about a bunch of five rich, spoilt, urban youngsters with special yet twisted talents, who fight modern-day social crimes like drunken driving, drug abuse and street fights, among others, with the help of an honest cop.
" Khotey Sikkey is a continuation of our past season in the sense that it is different. It is differentiated content because it's not a family drama or anything. It is edgy and contemporary and we hope that it cuts across a lot of audiences because it is a thriller. Thriller as we have seen with C.I.D., it has a wide appeal," Ravina Raj Kohli, creative head of YRF TV, told IANS.
With Khotey Sikkey, YRF TV is digressing into bi-weeklies, and is also planning to experiment in the daily space with an upcoming show Kismat, following which it will launch the second season of Mahi Way.
"One always knew that its not going to be an easy task for us. Where dailies are the norm on Indian television, we were doing weeklies. Then we were attempting a different type of television with the subjects we were getting into, the kind of audiences we were hoping to tap...But we choose to hang in there with our style," said Kohli.
YRF TV, the television arm of entertainment conglomerate Yash Raj Films, made a roaring start with five shows - Mahi Way, Rishta.Com, Powder, Seven and non-fiction show Lift Kara De, Jan 1, 2009.
For an audience which was fed heavily with saas-bahu soaps, slapstick comedies, mythological sagas and rural tales, these shows seemed different - not just in their stories, but their execution, scheduling and cinematography too.
Mahi Way was about a fat but spirited young girl Mahi and her aspirations, Rishta.Com was a sweet, romantic story, while Powder was on a completely different tangent as it narrated a story with the backdrop of narcotic trade.
Seven, inspired by mythology, was about seven individuals with extraordinary powers who fight a battle of good and evil, to fulfil an ancient prophecy, and Lift Kara De was a search for the biggest fan of 19 Bollywood stars.
The shows didn't garner record-breaking Television Rating Points (TRPs) but were appreciated by people from many quarters. In fact, according to data from Television Audience Measurement (TAM), around 25 percent of its viewership came from 15-25-year-old; so the production company is sticking to its original plan of being different.
"We didn't have the numbers but we got a huge response through other platforms like internet, e-mails and social networking sites. People used to discuss the shows on various forums. So, the plans are still the same - we still want to continue making the kind of shows we made in our first season. Perhaps it was a little too different, but a lot of it was actually very approachable and connectable," explained Kohli.

A source remarks on the development, "Dabangg's success is one of the main reasons for the banner pursuing Salman.
Initially, the director was thinking of casting John Abraham as the main lead, but after Sallu's flick became a smash hit, he decided the Dabangg actor would be a better draw."
The source adds that this isn't the first time SK has been approached for a Yash Raj film. He has been made several offers in the past, but none of them worked out.
"The star has never worked with Aditya Chopra, a slose friend of arch rival Shah Rukh Khan. Before signing the film, Sallu wants to be sure the team is all on the same page, creatively. Kabir has told the star that he can't see anyone else playing the part."
The YRF spokesperson didn't deny the development, adding, "YRF is in conversation with various artistes for our forthcoming slate of films.
We will make our announcements shortly after finalising everything. Till then, all this is mere conjecture."
Brats and crime
A year after introducing Powder, a crime-based fiction show as a weekly, Sony Entertainment and Yash Raj films, as per their tie-up, will be introducing their second bunch of shows starting this month. The first of the shows is called Khote Sikkey and revolves around the story of a
bunch of rich brats who commit crimes for adrenaline rush but are eventually corrected by a cop.
A bunch of newcomers have been cast to play a gang of privileged youngsters whom the cops find it tough to deal with. Damodar Deshmukh is the only cop who successfully handles the young criminals and, at one point in the story, even gets them to help him solve another case.
The time slot and the day are yet to be frozen, but the show is expected to arrive towards the last leg of the month. It’s the second show that YRF has produced, which belongs to the thriller and crime genre. Their last show Powder dealt with the friendship between a cop and a narcotics official gone wrong.
Isn’t the channel apprehensive? “No,” says Sony Entertainment’s programming head, Ajay Bhalwankar, “Thrillers and crime based shows have been the channel’s forte. I agree Powder didn’t fetch the numbers but as far as quality is concerned, it was far superior to a lot of content that’s still around. Everyone who followed Powder had loved it. So, there’s no room for any apprehension around Khote Sikkey either.”
It’s learnt that the show will be a once a week again, like Powder, and hence, might end up repeating history. “We’ll give it the best possible slot. If the content is powerful, the slot doesn’t slaughter the show’s prospects. And I’ve seen the content that has come to the table, it’s excellent,” asserts Bhalwankar. “I think it will be lapped up. And I’m sure, if all goes well, it will deliver good numbers too.”

Ranveer's three year long struggle for BBB
"Things weren't offered to me on a platter. I wasn't in a position where big production houses were waiting to launch me and I had to pick and choose. Instead, I had to go through my round of struggle for a good three and a half years before I finally got a concrete offer in the form of BAND BAAJA BARAAT. I may have just given up had the film not come to me at that time," says Ranveer who hails from Mumbai and has studied in the USA.
There was a light at the end of the tunnel though with Ranveer finally getting a call for audition from Yash Raj Films.
"The entire process from returning to Mumbai till the time that I finally got a call from Yash Raj Films was spread over three and a half years. Really, it isn't a small time duration," Ranveer continues to smile here, "Of course once I got a chance, I was sure that I would make the most out of it. I gave my best to the audition and there I was working in BAND BAAJA BAARAAT."
Well, with a happy ending eventually coming his way, it would be an altogether new beginning for the newcomer once his debut flick with Anushka Sharma as the leading lady releases all over on 10th December.

DELHI HEIGHTS
Director Maneesh Sharma recounts some interesting trivia when shooting Band Baaja Baaraat.
Director Maneesh Sharma, who is from Delhi, was keen to base and shoot his first film Band Baaja Baaraat in Delhi, to give it a typical texture of the city. He shot at 30 different locales tapping some new locations like Janak Puri, the DDA market and Pritampura amongst others.
“I was not prepared for the huge crowds that turned up to watch the shootings. At least 4000-5000 people were always present wherever we shot, while 6000 turned up at Janak Puri for all the seven days we shot there! Thankfully, they were all cooperative and we even used them for crowd scenes. At the DDA market in Mayapuri, where the shops had to shut down during the shoot, I remember one shopkeeper who insisted on keeping his wine shop open. But when Ranveer requested him telling that it was his first film he relented,” revealed Sharma about his experience of shooting in the city.

Katrina Kaif takes on a challenging role
Kat plays an impulsive character in the film which is directed by the debutant director Ali Abbas Zafar. She is crazy, short-tempered, and stubborn. In short a beauty with nakhre. This role came as quite challenge for this B-town hottie, who is otherwise very simple, and down-to-earth in real life.
As the actress tells a daily, “The girl in Ali's film is... something else. I have to go completely outside myself to play her. Whom am I observing to play the role? I am not telling.”
Kat has started the shooting of the film and is working for the first time opposite Pakistani actor Ali Zafar. The movie is named Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

YRF to launch Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun
Earlier, reports claimed that Boney Kapoor was planning to launch Arjun Kapoor (his son with his first wife, Mona), in Mr India 2. But now, instead of making his debut with his father, Arjun will make it with Yash Raj Films. Read on to know what transpired.
In 2008, Boney Kapoor and Yash Chopra had a disagreement. Boney did not allow his wife Sridevi to make a comeback in Yash Chopra’s film that was to cast her with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.
Boney told Yash Chopra that he was keen to re-launch his wife in his own production and requested him to cast someone else in his. At this point, Bachchan’s good friend Amar Singh tried to convince Boney but in vain, (Mumbai Mirror, July 28, 2008).
But that was two years ago. Says a source from the industry, “Arjun’s launch in a YRF film instead of a Boney Kapoor one, is a safer and better bet any day. Besides, any Bollywood parent would want the best platform for his child.”
So are bygones really bygones between Boney and Yash Chopra? The source adds, “Boney and Yash are both very experienced filmmakers. They don’t have any animosity for one another.”
Now that all’s well, Boney too is apparently quite happy that a top production house is launching his son. An official announcement is expected early next year.
When contacted, YRF official spokesperson said, “Yes, Arjun Kapoor has been signed up for a film with Yash Raj Films. We will make an announcement of our forthcoming films in January, 2011.”
In the past, when Feroz Khan launched his son Fardeen in Prem Agan, Harry Baweja launched Harman in Love Story 2050, the films turned out to be big box-office duds.
Now let’s see what’s in store for Arjun. After all, in Bollywood, it’s luck by chance!k

Wedding woes for Anushka Sharma
Actress Anushka Sharma is just two films old and at a time when most actors are vying to reach the top spot, the leggy lass seems unfazed by the competition. Anushka says that she is in no hurry to sign films and is happy with the kind of work coming her way.
“I am not bound by any contract and I am quite satisfied with the kind of films that are being offered to me. To start with a banner like Yash Raj Films is like being born with a silver spoon,” she says.
Her upcoming film sees her play a wedding planner but in real life the actor has not even given shaadi a thought. “At this point in my career, tying the knot is not on my list of priorities at all. In fact, I haven’t even given it a thought as yet.” Though marriage seems like a distant possibility, she does believe in the institution. “At the end of the day I am like every other girl who wants to get married but only when the time is right.”
Ask her what are the qualities she would look for in a guy, and she
is quick to retort, “I can’t say things like good eyes, tall, dark and handsome. I just hope that my Mr Right will like me and respect me for the person I am.” More than anything Anushka hopes that her man will support her and understand the pressures of her profession.
Anushka enjoyed playing a wedding planner her new film and the best part she says was getting together and having fun. “ The energy of a marriage house with people buzzing around constantly was electrifying.”
Add to that her co-star Ranveer Singh. Ranveer and she bonded really well and their friendship and camaraderie extended beyond the sets as well. “Ranveer is a great co-star. We became great friends and maybe that is the reason why people who spotted us together mistook us to be dating. It’s quite funny actually to read about my various link-ups each day in the papers,” she ends reacting to rumours about her and actor Shahid Kapoor in the past.

Anushka: Ranveer is the perfect fit for BAND BAAJA BAARAAT
Anushka Sharma has worked with Shah Rukh Khan (RAB NE BANA DI JODI), Shahid Kapoor (BADMAASH COMPANY) and Akshay Kumar (in soon to be released PATIALA HOUSE) in quick succession. While all three men are established actors, it is for the first time that she is working with an absolute newcomer in the form of Ranveer Singh in BAND BAAJA BAARAAT.
Though any leading lady can be expected to be a little apprehensive about the prospects of working with a newcomer male lead, Anushka wasn't overtly bothered because she trusted her producer and mentor Aditya Chopra to have made the right choice.
"Adi (Aditya Chopra) and director Maneesh (Sharma) spent quite some time in getting the right face for the film. BAND BAAJA BAARAAT required a boy who could make the character of Bittoo Sharma believable. He had to not just look real but also be a very strong actor. When Ranveer was chosen for the role and I was informed about it, I knew that he would be the perfect fit. After all I trust Adi way too much on such matters", says Anushka.
However, Anushka made sure that she didn't get worked out by thinking about such matters during the making of the film and now its promotion.
"Really, I don't have in-depth knowledge about such things", confesses Anushka, "I am not well versed about the business aspects of film making. All I know is how to act and choose the best amongst the scripts that come to me. I know for sure that people want to see good films which come with a fresh subject."

YRF: No standoff between Yash and Aditya Chopra
A trade publication had recently published a story about the standoff between Yash and Aditya Chopra and a possible separation between the two. Yash Raj Films in a press statement has rubbished this story.
According to the statement the story is utter nonsense and the father-son duo has no plans to separate. "This is utter nonsense and unfortunate that anybody should have reported this without any basis or verification and would need to stoop to this for unknown gains," the statement said.

YRF defends Ranveer Singh
Yash Raj Films' (YRF) upcoming project 'Band Baaja Baaraat' has not been funded by debutant Ranveer Singh's businessman father, says the spokesperson of the production house.
"'Band Baaja Baaraat' has not been funded by debutant Ranveer Singh's father. He was chosen at an audition where he excelled and was therefore selected," Rafiq Gangjee, vice president (marketing & communications), YRF, said in a press statement.
A report in a daily indicated that Ranveer's father invested in the Rs.10-crore film, and that no talent-hunting procedure was organised to find out the male lead.
YRF has denied it all.
"For a Studio like Yash Raj Films, which is spearheaded by a much respected doyen of the film industry, Yash Chopra, we do not need to stoop to this and nor do we select our cast based on them funding us," added Gangjee.
Releasing Dec 10, 'Band Baaja Baaraat' also features Anushka Sharma. It is about two young people - Shruti and Bittoo - who are just out of Delhi University and get together to start a business venture as wedding planners.
The film is directed by Maneesh Sharma, who assisted Aditya Chopra as an associate director on 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'.

No Rajnikanth in 'Dhoom 3': YRF
Yash Raj Films (YRF) has described as untrue reports that southern superstar Rajnikanth might feature in a key role in action-adventure film Dhoom 3.
"An article in a trade publication suggests that Mr. Rajnikanth may be approached for a pivotal role in Dhoom 3. While Yash Raj Films has the utmost respect for the actor, the truth is that no such plans have been made," Rafiq Gangjee, vice president (Marketing and Communications), YRF, said in a press statement.

Yash Chopra plans to direct next year
Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra is planning to wield the megaphone again in 2011 after a gap of six years.
His last directorial venture was Indo-Pak love story Veer-Zaara in 2004, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta.
The 78-year-old director is synonymous with romance in the Indian film industry with his films like Waqt, Kabhi Kabhie, Silsila, Chandni, Lamhe and Dil To Pagal Hai.
"I will be directing a film next year and like my other films, it will be shot in Switzerland," Chopra said without divulging details.
Chopra was in the city to receive 'Swiss Ambassador's Award 2010' for his contribution in promoting Switzerland through his cinema. He was accompanied by his wife and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.
While Deepika has worked in his home production-Yash Raj films, Chopra said he would love to cast her in his next movie.
He is called the 'King of Romance' in Bollywood but Chopra finds Imtiaz Ali most romantic director in the present lot of filmmakers.
"Every director makes a romantic film in his own style. I have my own style. In young breed of directors, I like Imtiaz Ali. Jab we met was a wonderfully romantic movie."
When asked about his fixation with Switzerland, the filmmaker said, "I honeymooned in Switzerland and then I roamed the whole country by car and that's when I fell in love with its beauty.
"There is no bureaucracy, no permission involved. I can shoot my films right after alighting from the plane! There is zero crime. So it is wonderful going there every time."

I am not trying to sell any image: Anushka Sharma
"I do a film when I like a character or a script. As an actor I would not confine myself to limited roles and become a monopolist. I am not trying to sell any image", said Anushka.
"I want to do roles which I and other girls can relate to," said Anuoshka, who was in Delhi with her co-star Ranveer and film director Maneesh Sharma to promote the upcoming Yash Raj film 'Band Baaja Baarat'.
The model-turned actress tunneled into Bollywood through Yash Raj films and since then destiny has been favouring her.
With all her three films being produced and directed under the banner, ask the pretty damsel where she stands minus Yash Raj and she quips in, "Well I am a very honest actor. I do roles because they excite me. I don't make a biased judgement based on a banner. Before signing 'Baand Baaja Baarat', I ventured to act in the film 'Patiala House'outside Yash Raj banner."

Ali Zafar hugged by Katrina Kaif as a gesture of Thanks
What more could Pakistani popstar and ‘Tere Bin Laden’ star Ali Zafar ask for as a reward for bravery than being hugged by Bollywood’s most sought after actress Katrina Kaif.
And it was not something more than what he deserved too, for he saved Katrina from an accident on the sets of Yash Raj Films’ ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ suffering minor injury too. Katrina her hair got stuck in a pedestal fan on the sets of the film being currently shot at Nabha. The incident scared Kaif and also injured a spot boy badly.
It may be recalled here that long back when Sunil Dutt had saved Nargis from a fire mishap during ‘Mother India’, the bravery had led to their tying knots with each other, but Zafar may not be as lucky tough since he is already a husband and a father too.
However, it cleared the cold vibes between the two stars which had sparked when Zafar failed to recognize Katrina when she approached him at a party.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a comedy of errors: Imran Khan
Imran Khan is presently shooting for Yash Raj Films’ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and is very charged about the film, which is set in Dehradun, Delhi and Agra.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a romantic comedy, and has Imran playing a upper middle-class boy from Dehradun. The actor said that he is having a ball shooting there as he is discovering North India.
“It is the first time that I am getting a chance to explore the city and I am enjoying the experience. The best part is the sumptuous food I get here. I eat everything I can lay my hands on, but the jalebis are out of this world,” informed Imran from Haridwar, where he was shooting for the day.
The director, Ali Abbas Zafar, is from Dehradun so he has set the story in a city he knows very well. “Actually the film is a comedy of errors and I fall in love with my brother’s dulhan,” said the actor.

Katrina, Imran bond well
The Yash Raj film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar that Katrina Kaif is shooting in Pataudi these days is her third film in four months. "I've almost completed Farah and Zoya's films ("Tees Maar Khan" and "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara") and this Yash Raj film is also going to be ready in no time. All of them are great fun to shoot, mainly because my co-stars are so easy to work with."
Kat says she's happy just being a working girl right now. "Can't a girl be happy just working hard and enjoying it? Why must a girl be in a relationship to be happy?" About shooting with Salman Khan for a song in "Tees Maar Khan", Katrina asks, "What was the fuss all about? It was like shooting with any co-star one is comfortable with. For those who expected fireworks... Sorry guys, please wait until Diwali."
If there's one Bollywood diva who qualifies as Calamity Jane, it's Katrina. The accident-prone actress had another accident on Tuesday in Pataudi near Delhi, where she is shooting with Imran Khan. During an action sequence bustling with lots of gadgets, cars and guns, not to mention flailing limbs, Imran's hand landed straight in Katrina's face, hitting her nose really hard.
It wouldn't have been so painful if there wasn't a steel gun in Imran's hand, which hit her nose with a whack. Katrina says she could've sworn she heard something crack in the middle of her face. Wincing in pain, on Wednesday afternoon, she said, "Please don't make it seem as if Imran was careless or something. These things happen. We were shooting one of the really madcap scenes where the actors' limbs acquire a life of their own. Imran's hand landed on my face."
The pain in her nose was greater than it would've been otherwise simply because she got hit exactly on the same spot on her nose by Ranbir Kapoor during the shooting of "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani". "Yeah, I got whacked twice in the same spot. I think I need to get my nose fixed," says Katrina. Imran was full of apologies after the incident. Says Katrina, "He's really fun to gel with. Luckily, he's engaged, so we can chat and enjoy one another's company without people's imagination going on a rampage!"

Katrina Kaif will be seen in a totally new avatar in the latest movie by Yash Raj Films directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. This film is currently being shot in Delhi where the actress left for already last Monday.
Katrina will be seen in the role of a friendly, simple Delhi girl in this romantic comedy. She has adopted a new hairstyle for this movie where her hair is poker straight, waist length with short fringes. She was seen visiting the salon before leaving for Delhi to get her hair styled by Asif even though she wasnt in the best of her healths, the stylist says that she really did her best efforts to look good and wanted to get it styled before leaving for the filming in Delhi.
This movie will have Imran Khan in the lead role opposite Katrina and Ali Zafar, Pakistani Singer-actor will also be there. This will be the first Yash Raj movie for Imran Khan and the pair is expected to be a hit among the audience.
Recent news about the movie also says that Katrina has been injured while filming where she had to move and Imran had to pull her with a gun in his hand, that was when a wrong move resulted in smashing of the Gun’s barrel on Kat’s nose and she ended up having a bloody nose, the bleeding must have stopped but the actress is still in pain.
So a new hairstyle for the bollywood beauty but an injured nose comes with it too ?

SRK back in Yash’s Raaj
In a bid to change the tide, Yash Raj Films has signed on the superstar for its next, which will either be directed by head honcho Yash Chopra or his son Aditya.
Given their recent records, Yash Raj Films (YRF) is now trying to salvage its reputation of being one of the most successful and prestigious production houses in Bollywood. A lot of their recent projects bombed at the box office but they haven’t let that dampen their spirits.
After offering Dhoom 3 to Aamir Khan (he will start reading the script around October 15), YRF has now got another box-office winner, Shah Rukh Khan to work on one of its forthcoming films.
The last YRF film with King Khan, which Yash Chopra directed himself, was Veer Zaara (2004), a box office success. The production house is counting a lot on the success of its forthcoming project with the actor. This film will either be directed by YRF head honcho Yash Chopra or his son Aditya.
A source says, “YRF is yet to decide who will direct the Shah Rukh starrer. SRK has very good relations with both, Yashji and Aditya. He has equal faith in both of them. They are like family to him.”
And interestingly, it may seem as though SRK has proved lucky for the production house, as most of the films the actor has done with them have been successful at the box office, with the exception of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008).
While the lead actor has been finalised, the position of the heroine opposite Shah Rukh still remains open.
Apparently, the SRK starrer for YRF will go on floors in 2011. So, next year, Shah Rukh, who will start shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2, will thus be shooting for at least two films. This will obviously be quite a change from his usual habit of shooting for only one film a year.
When contacted, the YRF spokesperson said, “We are still working on our slate for the coming year and will make our announcements at the appropriate time on the finalisation of our projects.”

History repeats itself with Band Baaja Baarat
Anushka Sharma, who made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, would be seen on the big screen yet again in Band Baaja Baaraat. This fun flick coming from the house of 'Yash Raj Films' releases all over on December 10.
However, call it sheer coincidence or a part of the plan but the fact remains that history would be repeating itself for the pretty girl. This is because Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi too had come around the same time when it released on December 12, 2008.
Says a trade observer, "This should be one lucky coincidence for the makers and Anushka here. After all Anushka has been enjoying a good innings so far in Bollywood. Her first film was a blockbuster while Badmaash Company, which was again a YRF production and had released earlier this year, was also an average success. She would well be looking at making a hat trick with Band Baaja Baaraat."
